Nami Island and Rail Bike tour – Quick Overview

Ferry docked at Nami Island Wharf waiting for passengers to board
The ferry from Gapyeong Wharf to Nami Island is included in your tour.

Our tour is designed to take all the effort out and let you enjoy quality time with your loved ones. We will pick you up from your hotel in Seoul and drive to Nami Island. You will be taken care of by our professional tour guide who is ready to answer any and all questions!

Our transportation package includes the ferry to Nami Island. If you prefer to kick off the trip with high adrenaline, you can zipline across the Han River to Namiseom instead! This comes at an extra cost. Simply speak to your tour guide on the day, and they can arrange it for you. In this case you would only catch the ferry on the way back.

To people taking the zipline to Nami Island
The 80m high zipline to Nami Island is great if you are looking for an injection of adrenaline (optional).

You will have plenty of activities to do on Namiseom. Our Nami Island tour package will allow you the opportunity to stroll along romantic tree-lined paths, relax at quaint cafes, and marvel at the beauty of the landscape!

We will take you for a traditional lunch in Chuncheon where you can relax and savor your meal, before heading out on our Gapyeong Rail Bike tour.

Finally, on our short journey back to Seoul, we’ll stop off at either the Amethyst or Ginseng Center to give you an opportunity to grab some unique Korean souvenirs.

Rent a bike if you wish to optimize your time on Nami Island.

One reason why our Nami Island Tours are so popular is that Namiseom is packed with activities! If you love nature, you will enjoy exploring the Cheollipo Magnolia Garden and the Central Korean Pine Tree Lane. The Maple Lane of True Love is another gorgeous option, perfect for couples as it is very romantic. You can either walk or optimize your time and rent a bike to see all of them!

Most travelers on our Nami Island tour package love to stop by the Gongsaengwon Garden and see the “Winter Sonata” statue. The famous K-Drama began filming in 2002 and since the protagonists kissed on Namiseom for the first time, this place became very popular with the show’s fans.

Namiseom is known for its stunning colors of which there are plenty, regardless of the season. If you come here in the spring, you will be able to indulge in the pink cherry blossoms which look simply adorable! If you visit in the autumn, you will be able to witness the magic of the golden leaves at Nami Island’s Ginko Tree Lane.

If you wish to visit Namiseom, but rail biking along the pretty Bukhan riverside doesn’t sound like your cup of tea, consider our Nami Island and Petite France tour. This is our most popular Namiseom tour and great for those who would enjoy a taste of European culture and families who love “The Little Prince” by Saint-Exupery.

Recharge your energy at Chuncheon with an authentic lunch

Dak-Galbi being cooked on the table
Dak-Galbi is a spicy dish where chicken is stir-fried in a gochujang-based sauce with cabbage, scallions, perilla leaves, sweet potatoes, and rice cake.

Our Nami Island and Rail Bike tour includes a lunch stop in Chuncheon. While here, you will try the most famous meal from the region – dak galbi. The dish consists of stir-fried chicken combined with scallops, sweet potatoes, rice cake, perilla leaves, and the famous gochujang-based sauce.

The sauce has a very exciting flavor; it’s savory, sweet, and spicy, made from chili powder, meju powder, and yeotgireum. In case you do not eat spicy food or meat, kindly speak to your tour guide at the start of your tour. They can ask the restaurant to tone down the spice, or order a Bibimbap meal for you instead which is just as good!

Dak galbi originated in Chuncheon thanks to the great quantity of livestock and availability of fresh ingredients that did not need refrigeration. If you like to taste the most authentic version of this dish, this is the perfect place!

Gangchon Rail Park – Rail biking along the gorgeous Bukhan River

What better way to get active after lunch than an exciting bike ride in nature? Don’t miss the chance to ride one of the famous Gangchon Rail Park routes on our Nami Island and Gangchon Rail Bike tour! You will move along the old train tracks and see some breathtaking Korean landscape!

At Gangchon Rail Park getting ready to go rail biking
You’ll pass over Bukhan River Railway Bridge and stop at Gyeonggang Station (filming location of the movie “Letter”).

You can choose a two-seat or four-seat bike and share the experience with your loved ones in a team effort! During the ride, you will see the peaceful Bukhangang (Bukhan River) as you pass over the Bukhan River Railway Bridge. Use this opportunity to take lots of photos!

The bike ride is a wholesome experience that is fantastic for the entire family! It will surely be a memorable trip that you’ll cherish forever! While you will exert some effort, this activity is great for all levels of physical fitness.

Our course will take you from Gapyeong Rail Park Station to Gyeonggang Station where you will take a well-deserved break. With renewed energy, you’ll then depart this half way point and head back to Gapyeong Rail Park Station. Here our bus will be waiting to return you safely back to Seoul.

There are 2 rail bike courses operated by Gangchon Rail Park. Our guests love passing over the 30m high Bukhan River Railway Bridge and stopping at Gyeonggang Station which is the filming location of the movie “Letter”. So this is the course we opt for. However, on rare occasions during peak season we may need to use the equally stunning Gimyujeong course.

    Robert

I saw photos of Nami Island before I came, but photos don’t do this place justice. Came with the girlfriend and there were lots of Korean people here too not just tourists. The rail biking was also very fun. Got lots of exercise in nature so felt great. Thank you.
