Once a stream that served as the domestic wastewater of Seoul, it has been transformed into one of the most beautiful leisure place in Seoul. N Seoul Tower on top of Namsan Mountain offers fine views of Seoul in every direction. The tower is a popular place to relax for Seoul citizens. There is a lighting show every night with various colors. Dongdaemun market has 26 shopping malls situated over 10 blocks, 30,000 specialty shops, and 50,000 manufactures. The market sells all types of goods but notably silks and fabric, clothes, shoes and leather goods, sporting goods, plumbing and electronics, office supplies, fortune tellers, toys and food areas specializing in Korean cuisine.

N Seoul Tower
Opened to the public on October 15, 1980, Seoul Tower has been designated as a major tourist attraction where the beautiful panoramic view of Seoul can been seen. The 236.7 meter high Seoul Tower built on the 243m Mt. Namsan has been known as the best tower in Asia. After 30 years of devoted support from tourists, it was remodeled on December 9, 2005 with a magnificent new look. The letter N signifies a ‘new’ look, and a total construction cost of 15 billion won was invested in to giving Seoul Tower its new look.
Visitors can enjoy browsing the large quantities and varieties of clothing, fabrics, imported goods, underwear, bags, socks, and gloves at the wholesale shopping district. Most of the items are only available in large quantities and are intended for retail, but the sheer spectacle makes for a great shopping experience. Most of the shops in this district open from 9:00pm to 5:00am or 6:00am the next day. This district’s most well known shopping centers include the Dongdaemun Shopping Complex, Pyeonghwa Fashion Town, and Designer Club, which are all conveniently located within walking distance of each other. There are some small quantities of goods available for sale.
The Fashion Plaza (Wall of Culture) is a symbolic spot along Cheonggyechon (Stream) between Jongno-gu and Jung-gu, Seoul. It is surrounded by giant fashion malls (such as Doosan Tower and Migliore) and is decorated with a colorful wall of fabrics from Dongdaemun’s fashion district along with mural paintings (Wall of Culture) by five artists. A spectacular lighted fountain also makes the Fashion Plaza a popular place among tourists.
